Its the summertime....so Summer Coolers

It's the summertime and the heat is back again with more intensity. Wonder what temperatures are we going to face in May this time. Phew!!!!! But till then my friends who venture out in this terrible baking heat please make sure you take along a bottle of water along with you. Prefer to carry room temperature water than chilled as it can give you a bad headache.

Those who want to make this summer a little cooler we have some nice summer coolers for you.

1) Coconut water & Rose ( Blush )
Rose

tender coconut
Take the coconut water out of the shell and add a 1 tbsp of Rose syrup to it... Stir it nicely. Rose is a rich resource of Vitamin A, B3, C, D & E whereas coconut is a reserve of minerals and regulates body temperature. Above all, both of them push away dehydration. They also keep bladder infections away as they both posses diuretic properties. Rose relaxes your senses completely. This drink is suitable for everyone but a great option for pregnant ladies .....

2) Ginger and Lime ( Gingerly lemon)

Ginger and Lemon
Blend 6 to 8 cubes of ice with 1 tsp of dried ginger powder and juice of 1 lemon and add sugar as per taste. it will make a tall glass. Of course its a slush and hence would be in a long glass. You enjoy as it melts in the heat. Lemons are a rich source of Vitamin C. Since generations its known for cooling body temperature, a relief for kidney problems and also anti carcinogenic properties. Both Lemon and Ginger are efficient in improving digestion. So that ensures less acne.

Salted Lassi

3) Simple and easy to make Salted Lassi

Take a cup of plain curd, beat it with some sugar and salt.  Then blend it with some cumin powder very little a pinch. I would recommend salty in the summer time. Its a rich source of calcium and vitamin B5 and B12. Yogurt also eliminated some nasty microorganisms from the body. Apart from that it improves the metabolism rate of the body and helps in melting unwanted fat....

Watermelon and Mint Mojito

4) Watermelon & Mint

Mint leaves
Watermelon
Pick five mint leaves and around 150 gm of watermelon (without seed and cut in cubes) and lemon juice of half a lime. Blend it light like just for 10 seconds. If you would like it chunky pour it straight else pass it through the strainer. Add sugar syrup for taste. Watermelon, the perfect fruit for summers as it has the highest water and fiber content. The low calorie fruit known for cooling down body temperature. Its a rich source of Vitamin A. Mint is a refreshing herb which entices the digestion of the body. Its a proven relief for nausea and headache.

Try  one of this drinks instead of  the tea or coffee you consume in the afternoon. You will feel refreshed, lighter and relaxed. Coolers definitely don't mean ice. But I have thought of some food stuffs which cool your body internally and not just superficially. Avoid eating oily, greasy and junk stuff. Stick to fresh and hearty fruits and have a balanced diet. Don't forget about water..

Avoid wearing black and such dark colors. Such colors make you feel more warm as they absorb more heat. Wear bright and light colors.....

Cheers
Asmita
