Keeping in mind the recent trends
and broader scope of articles that we want to publish we have included topics
like lifestyle and current affairs. To be very direct we want to talk about
everything and not limiting ourselves to food, beverage and recipes. We have
taken an initiative of such to restrict us from restricting ourselves to
specific topics only. “This means, I want to tell you in simple words...We want
to write about everything.”

A general scene at all corporate offices |
The new change allows me to write
about the most current trend in our lifestyle tagline as Hurry, Curry and
worry.” The very motivation of this piece lies in the small time I spent in a
corporate office. To everyone’s surprise I had for a brief period of time
become a part of corporate culture. Yes, like the normal office goers kind
of. The get up in the morning, pack the
Tiffin and rush to get into a specific time local (that’s my train kind). I found the Tiffin part of it the most novel
as I had never carried one since almost my school ended. To be precise that is like nine years now. I was really nervous the day I stepped into
the office for the first time. I had just taken a cucumber sandwich and that’s
it. It was 1:30 and my HRD manager Neha asked me. “Shall we?” I joined her. We
went into the pantry. The pantry was a like a penthouse with a glass window on
top for natural light. Draped in a very light coat of ivory white colour, it
perfectly resembled a hospital. The best thing I liked about this place was the
French glass windows, through which the hospital kind of feeling really
vanished with the pleasant view of the trees rustling against each other with
slight breeze. The next building had these old type of fans with big blades
with a rusty finish on them. Whenever I sat there it transported me to a
different era and i would enjoy the motion of the blades complementing that of
the trees. The door opened with the whiff of several vegetables, spices and a
loud chatter of people. I observed that there are groups seated on each table.
The groups were formed due to departments everyone worked in. Basic human instincts, I thought to myself
throwing a smile at every pair of anxious eyes. I was looked at with looks
which very shouting loudly, who is she? HRD manager’s friend?? Why is she
dressed casual?? Interview candidate?? Then my HRD manager slowly started
introducing me. Man!!!! That girl was too good with introducing new people.
Guess it was a part of her job. We sat at a table where most of the faces I had
seen around me in the office were gathered.

Microwave |
Familiar faces, they become such
a relief in an estranged environment. A man in his early fifties, Manoj
suddenly started inquiring whether I would like to warm up my lunch. I declined
it explaining that I had brought sandwiches which ideally didn’t require any
reheating. But out of curiosity i asked
him, “How do you warm your lunch” pat came the reply, “MICROWAVE”. Now manoj happens to be a person famous as
“ORGANIC”. He will always carry a lunch
made of organic vegetables and grains. He also made sure he advertised enough
about it. Well there were few more characters of such type in the office.
Slowly and steady people necessary to be named like Nita, Manoj, Savita, Manisha
and Rachel brought me some excitement in
this boring office. This was in terms of different kind of food that they
brought in their lunch box. There were so many options to dip your fingers into
and smack it. Yum!! Honestly speaking...more than work this was my best
motivation to get up early. My constant
insistence was about stopping the use of microwave. It is not healthy, I
believe. But why? They all asked. The reasons are known to only few of us. When
i advise them that the food’s nutrition washes off and there are harmful
chemical changes that happen in the food, I was laughed over and asked HOW?? So
here I tell you my folks how...
Do you know in Russia after World
War 2, a research was carried on at the Institute of Radio technology at Klinsk
due to which the equipment was subjected to a ban in Russia in 1976 till Perestroika.
Two researches Blanc and Hertel confirmed that microwave cooking significantly
change food nutrients. Their study reflected the effect of micro waved food had
on eight individuals after eating. They found that after eating immediately
their Haemoglobin levels decreased. Lymphocytes (white blood cells) also showed
a more distinct short term decrease following the intake of micro waved food
than after the intake of the other variant style cooked food. Also there was a
decrease in the ratio of HDL (good cholesterol) and LDL (bad cholesterol). Each
of these indicators pointed to degeneration. The violent change that
microwaving causes to the food molecules forms new life forms called radiolytic
compounds (which is no doubt one reason why it’s better to eat plenty of raw
food). Microwave cooked food can ideally lead to deterioration of the blood and
immune system.

Effects of Microwave cooking |
§
Heating prepared meats in a microwave
sufficiently for human consumption creates d-Nitrosodiethanoldiamin, the bigger
the name the more intense is the harm resulting. This chemical is very famous
cancer causing agent.
§
It is observed that the use of microwave in
cooking food also causes destabilization of active protein bimolecular
compounds.
§
It also creates a binding effect to radioactivity
in the atmosphere causing a marked increase in the saturated fats in the food.
§
When frozen fruits were thawed away in a microwave,
the emissions also caused alteration in
the catabolic breakdown behaviour of glucoside and galactosal elements
§
Microwaves altered the catabolic behaviour of
plant-alkaloids when raw, cooked or frozen vegetables were exposed for even
very short periods.
§
Cancer causing free radicals were formed within
certain trace mineral molecular formations in plant substances, especially in raw
root vegetables.
§
Ingestion of micro waved foods caused a higher
percentage of cancerous cells in blood.
§
Those consuming micro waved food in considerable
heavy quantities showed a statistically higher incidence of stomach and
intestinal disorders or cancers. It also has shown destruction and gradual
breakdown of the digestive and excretory organs or system.
§
Microwave exposure caused significant decrease
in the nutritional value of all foods. This is ideally because microwave works
on the function of doing inside to outside cooking. When food is placed in a
microwave to cook. The water molecules which hold the nutrients vibrate rapidly
and burst. So do the nutrients which are highly volatile also vapour off.
§
Thus essential B-complex vitamins, vitamin E,
minerals are not even an inch to your tongue.
§
Eating micro waved also leads to the complete
shutdown of your male and female hormonal system. So you will go low on
productivity.
§
Even standing in front of a working microwave is
also very harmful. The waves emitted are dangerous for our body as are any
radiations. Remember, how you are draped with apron when you are taken to an x
ray room keeping only the part which is to be xeroxed, exposed. Ever thought
why?
I have just presented you a few
facts. Give it a thought. But I have a few ways to avoid micro waved food. Try
having a healthy and hearty breakfast and keep the lunch light with sandwiches,
salad, curds and fruits. This will also make you feel light and energetic through
post lunch work hours. You can make use of induction plates or gas ranges
easily available at every cafeteria. If you are ordering something in a
restaurant then please check with your server if they use micro wave in the
preparation. Please don’t rely on this two minute noodles and four minute
pasta, use your brains ...do short cuts really work in life. They are short
lived and so will be you.
Eat raw foods and avoid processed food as our bodies
have ideally being designed unprocessed food. Also limit your eating out
ventures and start eating home cooked food. Or just start cooking for
yourselves. This applies to all the bachelors who stay away from home. Every
woman likes a man who can cook and serve her a dinner with a candle light and
wine.
Anaddict.
